Since 2001
Paolo Iashvili Theatre, “Teatre Paolo” was formed in 2001 in Sachkhere. In the same year the theatre staged psychological drama, “Waiting for the End” and gained the love of audience. Since then, various performances have been offered to the audiance, namely “Colorful Balloons”, “Mentor”, “Guest and Host”, “Reward and Punishment”, „Sherekilebi”.
The theater has been actively involved in Georgian festivals and has won numerous awards and nominations. The success of ”Sherekilebi”, the play based on the story by Georgian classic writer Revaz Gabriadze, was especially remarkable. In 2017 the play won the main prize and was nominated as the best performance at the international festival “Theatrical Imereti” in Kutaisi. The theater was also on tour in Greece, Athens, where the audience was presented with “Colorful Balloons” on the stage of “Alkion”. The cast is living an active life, travelling throughout the country to give performance to Georgian audience.
