The Life of a Fool

Akutagawa’s “The Life a Fool” is a work consisting of 50 small poetic writings. It is also thought of as the writer’s autobiographical confession. Director Giorgi Metonidze used the movement method and told Akutagawa’s story in a non-verbal way, using body language. The director and the actors managed to piece together and tell a soul-stirring story via physical movements, gestures and facial expressions. Birth – passing on, life – death, love – hate, creativity – real life. The creative team visually sculpted the main topics of the story in front of the viewers. The one hour play tells the main subject of Akutagawa’s story in an iconic way.
